i had a good laugh from this one, considering that those who haven't tried eating balut will think of the same thing, even me had the same thoughts and ideas back then, but now, i can eat a whole egg tray of balut
Side note: I enver eat the actual Duck though O: XD /sissy
And to add to the list, Budgerigar (household parakeet) means "good to eat" in aborigine. I find it kinda hard to sit around a campfire and gnaw on a little parakeet. And south americans still cook cavies (guinea pigs).
I'm Filipino and I had my boyfriend [who is English] try balut a few years ago. It was an interesting experience watching him eat it.
Although when people ask us what it is, I have to ask if they want my straight-to-the-point definition or my boyfriend's rather morbid explanation... But they always choose his story, I don't know why..
And I like both duck and hard-boiled eggs.
